Here's who I am & what I do

​

I, Flt. Lt. Prof. Munesh Chandra Adhikary, as faculty of Physics for last 37 years 03 months ( at College Service level from 25.01.1988 to 28.04.2008 and at University Service level from 29.04.2008 to 31.08.2023 and continuing as Adjunct Professor of Physics at F.M. University since 08.09.2023 after retirement )   , got the opportunity to gain good experience by doing a number of activities under Academic Administration, Research and Education. Being the Commissioned NCC Officer ( Air Wing ) from 1996 to 2008 in the rank of Flight Lieutenant at college, I motivated the students in giving educational training, discipline and social works. In the fields of research like experimental material science and neural network, so far 10 students awarded Ph.D. degree and 15 students awarded M.Phil. degree. I have presented research papers in various international conferences at abroad countries like Australia-Sydney(2011), Thailand-Bangkok(2012), Nepal-Pokhora(2016) and Germany-Dresden(2017) and also visited other countries like Czech Republic, France, Italy and Malayesia. To my credit, I have published 58 research papers in various national and international journals and published 02 books and edited 08 journals / proceedings so far. So far, I have completed 02 Research Projects ( 01 DST and 01 DRDO ) and now continuing 01 Research Project  ( as Group Leader of Physical Science-Component-B , Center of Excellence under OHEPEE, Govt. of Odisha  and World Bank). I, as the Convener, conducted four National Seminars ( 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, one State level Annual Convention of Orissa Physical society with national Seminar     ( 2015 ) and one International Conference ( 2016 ) on various themes of research area. I, as Head of Applied Physics & Ballistics Department, F.M. University ( 2010-2012, 2014-2016 ,02.06.18 to 01.06.2020 ) and Coordinator of Applied Physics & Ballistics Department, F.M. University ( 2013-2014) , initiated to establish Advanced Research Laboratory on Material Science for interdisciplinary work at F.M. University. I  published innovative science articles  and also designed  education materials in  website. Also as Officer in Charge of Website, I developed and launched the Official Website of Fakir Mohan University in the year 2009, which is reflecting the mirror image of the university as communication tool till date for the benefit of students as well as society. Again, I as Director, Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education DDCE, F.M. University ( 01.02.2013 to 21.07.2014 and 01.05.2019 to 15.11.2021 ), served for the wide implementation of open education for each class of people. As the REGISTRAR  of F.M. University for 1 ½ years from Dt.12.05.2014 to Dt.30.11.2015 , I have executed good number of University Administrative Works like execution of Syndicate Meetings, Academic Council Meetings, Senate and Syndicate Member Elections, Convocations, College Affiliations, Appointments, Development Works , RTI and Legal Matters , Tender and Financial Matters, Grievance Cell etc. and in addition to the administration work I  also organized  Training Programs, Lecture Series in interacting with  students . Further, I am elected as Vice-President of Orissa Physical Society for two years 2018-20. Now I am elected as President of Fakir Mohan University Teachers Association ( FMUTA ) since February 2021 to August 2022. Again, NAAC, Bengaluru has nominated me as NAAC Assessor since 14.01.2020 for Universities of India. I have also served as Director, Human Resource Development Center from September 2021 to August 2022. I also served  as Chairman of Post Graduate Council ( Pro Vice Chancellor ), F.M. University from 1st June 2021 to 31st August 2023. At present I have been continuing as Adjunct Professor at P.G. Department of Physics under F.M. University, Balasore, Odisha since 08th September 2023 as per UGC guidelines for looking after the research  and taking the classes of P.G. Dept. of  Atmospheric Science. In addition , I am also continuing as Director , CDOE ( Center for Distance and Online Education ) , F.M.  University since 22.10.2024.
